 Participant Success – Traffic Control Person

-  Program Objective -

The “Virtual Skill for Employment Preparation Program (VSTEP) is designed to reduce the unemployment rate of Young Adults, aged 17 – 29, facing significant barriers to Employment.

-    Training Plan Development -

Participant attended individualized pre-employment sessions, customized to identify strengths and challenges, additionally, career and personality assessments were completed.  Occupational research identified industry clusters to research discovering employment specific areas best suited to accommodate Participant challenges and needs.  Results: Traffic Control Person

-   Supports Provided -

Training course costs, transportation costs and industry safety equipment and clothing.  Upon successful completion of the training course, job search coaching included identifying and contacting Traffic Control companies within the local labour market.  Participant was assisted with resume and cover letter preparation targeting their employment goal, as well, interview workshops including mock interviews to enhance confidence.

-    Results -

Participant is approaching 3 months sustainable employment as a Traffic Control Person and states “I love working as a flagger.”
