VSTEP provides free support to Young Adults at Risk, ages 16-29 looking for assistance with addressing challenges to entering and remaining in the work force. Buxton Consulting Ltd offers individualized planning and support in person or in a virtual environment.

Supports may be provided where relevant for:

  • Transportation

  • Employment related work clothing and equipment

  • Disabilities

  • Assistive Technology

  • Wage Subsidy

  • Accommodation while attending training

  • Training related supplies

  • Childcare

  • Post-employment follow-up and supports

Program Eligibility:

  • Young Adults between the ages of 16-29 inclusive, at the time of intake into VSTEP

  • Young Adults who have one or more barriers to employment that directly interfere with their ability to access, find and keep employment and affect participation in employment

  • Young Adults who are currently or were formerly in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development

  • Young Adults who are unemployed or precariously employed
